This Privacy Policy explains how VDO.AI (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles information in connection with the Cast Orbit mobile and TV application (package name com.z1tech.castOrbit) for Android phones, tablets, Android TV, and Google TV (the “App”).

By installing or using the App, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

Summary

Cast Orbit does not require an account, and we do not collect personal information directly from you. The App contains no advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting software. Your favourites, watch history, and settings are stored only on your own device.

The App does, however, connect to third-party streaming servers to fetch and play channels. Those servers may receive technical information such as your IP address as part of normal internet communication. The sections below explain this in more detail.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

The App does not ask for, collect, or transmit directly to us:

  • Your name, email address, phone number, postal address, or date of birth
  • Account or login credentials, as the App has no sign-up or sign-in functionality
  • Payment or financial information, as the App has no purchases, subscriptions, or billing
  • Precise or coarse device location
  • Your contacts, calendar, photos, files, camera, or microphone
  • Your Google Advertising ID or other advertising or tracking identifiers

The App contains no third-party advertising, analytics, attribution, or crash-reporting SDKs. There is no advertising network, measurement SDK, or behavioural profiling within the App.

2. Permissions the App Requests

The App requests the following Android permissions:

Permission Why it is needed
INTERNET To download the channel list and stream video.
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE To detect whether the device is online and provide appropriate connectivity feedback.
WAKE_LOCK To help prevent the device from sleeping during video playback.

The App may declare certain hardware features, including camera, microphone, touchscreen, telephony, and gamepad support, as optional to ensure compatibility across phones, tablets, Android TV, and Google TV devices. These are compatibility declarations and do not mean that the App accesses your camera or microphone.

3. Information Stored on Your Device

The following information may be stored locally in the App’s private storage on your device. This information is not sent to us:

  • Favourites — identifiers of channels you mark as favourites
  • Continue watching and history — titles you have played, associated metadata, your last playback position, duration, and viewing information
  • Last channel played — to allow playback to resume if you enable that setting
  • Your settings — including region, video quality preferences, channel display preferences, and playback settings
  • Cached channel catalogue data — such as channel names, logos, categories, countries, and stream addresses

Deleting Your Data

You can delete locally stored App data by clearing the App’s storage through your Android device settings or by uninstalling the App. You can also remove individual favourites within the App.

4. Android Backup

The App may permit Android’s built-in backup functionality. If device backup is enabled, Android or Google may back up certain App data, such as your favourites, history, and settings, to your Google account in accordance with Google’s applicable privacy practices.

We do not control or have access to backups maintained by Google through your device’s backup services. You can manage backup settings through your device settings.

5. Third-Party Content and Streaming Servers

Cast Orbit is a player for publicly available free-to-air channels. We do not necessarily host, own, control, or transcode the video content provided through third-party sources.

When the App loads channel information, channel logos, or plays a stream, your device may connect directly to third-party servers, including:

  • VDO.AI services — where applicable, to provide curated channel lists or related catalogue data
  • Broadcaster and content-delivery-network servers — which provide individual video streams and channel assets

When your device connects to these services, the relevant server operator may receive technical information normally required to process an internet request. This may include your IP address, date and time of the request, requested stream or image, device or browser information, operating system details, and video-related technical information.

These third parties operate independently, and their handling of information is governed by their own privacy policies and practices.

Background Availability Checks

The App may periodically check whether stream addresses remain available so that unavailable channels can be identified. As a result, the App may contact a stream server even when you are not actively watching that particular channel.

These requests involve only the technical information normally transmitted when connecting to an internet server.

Unencrypted Connections

Some publicly available streams may use unencrypted http:// connections. The App may permit such connections where necessary to support playback of those streams.

Traffic to an unencrypted third-party media server may not have the same protections as HTTPS traffic. Where applicable, our own services use HTTPS for secure communication.

6. Information Our Servers May Log

Like most internet services, VDO.AI services may automatically generate standard technical request logs when the App connects to our services.

Such logs may include:

  • IP address
  • Request timestamp
  • Requested resource
  • User-agent or similar technical information

This information is used only to operate, secure, maintain, and troubleshoot our services and to understand aggregate service usage.

We do not use this information for advertising or behavioural profiling.

7. How We Use Information

The limited information described in this Policy may be used only to:

  • Deliver channel catalogue information and enable video playback
  • Remember preferences, favourites, and playback positions on your device
  • Help identify unavailable or unreachable streams
  • Operate, secure, maintain, and troubleshoot our services
  • Understand aggregate technical service usage

We do not use information for advertising, behavioural profiling, or personalised advertising.

8. Sharing and Selling of Data

We do not sell personal information or share personal information with advertisers or data brokers.

We do not transfer personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

The App may establish direct technical connections with third-party content and streaming servers as described in Section 5. These connections are necessary for the App to retrieve channel information and play content.

We may also disclose information where required by applicable law or where reasonably necessary to protect our rights, safety, property, users, or the public.

9. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13, or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

The App may include third-party channels or content that could be categorised for children. Such content is provided by third parties and is not necessarily reviewed, rated, or curated by us for age appropriateness.

Parents and guardians should supervise children’s use of the App and use available device-level parental controls where appropriate.

10. Data Retention

Data stored locally on your device remains there until you delete it by clearing the App’s storage or uninstalling the App.

Cached channel catalogue information may be refreshed periodically, and outdated entries may be replaced or removed automatically.

Technical server logs, where generated, are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for service operation, security, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

11. Your Rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights relating to your personal information, including the right to request access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, or other applicable rights.

Because Cast Orbit does not require an account and most App data is stored locally on your device, you can delete that data directly by clearing the App’s storage or uninstalling the App.

If you have questions about information that may be processed by our services, you can contact us using the details below.

12. Security

We use reasonable measures to protect information associated with our services, including HTTPS for connections to our own services where applicable.

Data stored locally by the App is kept within the App’s private device storage, subject to the security protections provided by the operating system.

However, no method of internet transmission or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Third-party streams using unencrypted connections may also be subject to additional security risks.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any updated version will be posted on this page with a revised Last updated date.

We encourage you to review this Policy periodically. Your continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
